It varies more than any other AC part because the coil itself, the refrigerant type, and your manufacturer warranty all factor in. If the parts warranty is still active, you may only pay for labor and refrigerant. We check that first, then give you one flat number to approve. If replacement doesn’t make financial sense, we’ll say so.

The indoor evaporator coil is another matter: it’s delicate, hard to reach, and sits above your drain pan, so we recommend leaving that one to a tech.

Rarely, and we’ll be honest about why. Most coil leaks come from formicary corrosion, which makes pinholes across the tubing, so a patch in one spot doesn’t stop the next leak from forming. Replacement is usually the fix that lasts. We confirm the leak first and walk you through the numbers either way.
